Beauvais airport is located some 60km north of Paris. To reach Paris from the airport, the easiest option is to use the shuttle bus. These buses leave 15-30 minutes after the arrival of your flight. Journey time is 1.5-2 hours and tickets cost €10 one-way.

At the airport:

Buses depart from immediately outside the terminal building. When you leave the building, turn right and you will see the buses in front of you.

Tickets are obtained from machines located within the terminal building (unlike in Paris itself, you are unable to buy your ticket on the bus). One machine is located within the baggage reclaim hall (very easy to spot - there is a sign above it with a large blue arrow pointing downwards) and two machines are available just outside the reclaim area.

Tip - Buy your tickets from the machine in the baggage reclaim area while you wait for your luggage to arrive. This will save you time by avoiding the inevitable queue later (nearly everybody needs to buy a ticket). To use the machine in the reclaim area you need to have at least a €10 note (make sure its in good condition as the machine is a bit fussy about accepting crumpled/folded notes). There is an ATM within the terminal building, but this is located outside the reclaim area - so make sure you arrive with the required amount of euros if you want to use the machine in the reclaim area.

In Paris:

Buses arrive/depart from the coach park in Porte Maillot (adjacent to the Palais des Congres building).

There IS a bus ticket office, but this is located at the other side of a busy road junction. It is simpler to buy your ticket from the rep who usually hangs around the coach park (or if you don't see him just get on the bus and he will find you).

Porte Maillot metro station (for access to central Paris) has a number of entrances, all of which are a 5 minute walk from the coach park. It's not signposted from the coach park, so ask a fellow passenger (or the driver) for directions. For a map click here (http://www.hotelsreviewed.com/paris-porte-maillot-bus-metro.html)

I'm bring your directions with me. I was really hoping that there would be a shuttle-van service to Paris that could take me to my door.

If anyone know of this service please contact me at solangebrill@earhtlink.net my trip is September 7-13, 2003.

If anyone can tell me about the train. That might be helpful too.

Thanks,
/sb

I'm not sure if this is a permanent move, but twice now the bus to Paris has dropped passengers off behind the Palais des Congres building at Porte Maillot AND NOT IN THE COACH PARK. The coach park is just a 2 min walk around the corner though.

Bear this in mind if you're waiting at Porte Maillot to meet people arriving on the bus.

Thanks for the usefull tips. Anyone any idea whether it would be worth the three of us getting a taxi from Paris (Montmartre in our case) out to Beauvais? OK it's 60 Km but we won't have to worry about carting our luggage across Paris on the Metro!

Great info, now I have a better idea of where this airport actually is.
However, here's my problem, I'm flying into Beauvais (BVA) on the 13th and flying out of Charles de Gaulle (CDG) on the 14th, are there any "inexpensive, but decent" hotels with shuttles or buses to both of them?

mmmSkyscraper..

does anybody know what time the shuttle bus stops at??
I'm not arriving into Beauvais until after 21:30 and I'm a little concerned that there will be no bus to meet me!
I'm not keen on having 2 fork out 4 a taxi into central Paris!!

Don't worry - the buses are timed to depart after EVERY incoming flight.

Hi

How close to the centre of Paris is the Palais des congres? I'm hoping to stay somewhere central but want to make sure I'm not far from the coach park. Anyone help?

Just used this service today and last Thursday. The bus dropped us off at the Palais de Congres (Not in the bus park) and collected us today just outside the bus park. According to Ryanair, you should be at the bus park 2 hours before check in, but in reality 1 to 1.5 hours is more than enough. By the way, with road works on the way into Paris, it took us 1.75 hours from Beauvais but only just over 1 hour on the way back. Does anybody know of any train link from Beauvais to Paris?
If you do, mail me to cllrcollins@eircom.net
